Munich - Propyläen - a photo on Flickriver

The Propylaea on the west end of the Königsplatz is a city gate erected in the style of a Greek temple entrance (Προπύλαια), especially the one of the Acropolis in Athens.

The gate was created as a memorial for the accession to the throne of Otto of Greece, a son of the principal King Ludwig I of Bavaria.

Taken from the stairs of the Staatliche Antikensammlung nearby.
