Rosehip'eh - a photo on Flickriver

Rosehip'eh

            April in Montreal still looks very much as a fall. Still those golden yellows and reds.

An example of the close-up with RE, Auto-Topcor 58mm lens. It is put on DIY Exacta to M42 helicoid that allows me to get a bit closer than 45cm (18 inches) Topcor 58mm MFD. 

RE, Auto-Topcor 58mm f1.8 was a standard, kit lens for RE line of Topcon cameras. This one dates from late 60ies. It was badly mistreated, but optics are free of haze, fungus and scratches. As all others RE Topcor lenses, it gives nice combination of sharpness and bokeh. This f1.8 lens is sharper than f1.4 wide open and up to f5.6. From f8 there is no visible difference. Bokeh is less smooth. Exactly the way I like it.
