The old Mariner - a photo on Flickriver

The old Mariner

             the fires below the border  have created an eerie haze over the southern tip of our island this month. The invisible merchant ships' horns blow their warnings out onto the Juan de Fuca Strait and I'm not sure why the warship  was anchored and waiting in the mist.
This gentleman was braving the health hazard as he looked over toward Washington. He was a former officer of the merchant marine.
