2/10/24 Polar Plunge - a photo on Flickriver

            Carver Lake, Woodbury, MN.

This annual fundraiser for the Special Olympics attracts all sorts of brave (and crazy) people who raise money to support the Special Olympics and for the privilege of plunging into the frigid waters of a Minnesota lake in February. The weather for the day was an unprecedented temperature in the upper 30's degree F.  Warm weather and a lack of snow and ice made this plunge a unique one because participants had to run into the water from the shore instead of jumping in from out on the ice.
