Corpach Wreck, near Fort William. - a photo on Flickriver

            Originally the 'MV Dayspring' and built in 1975, she was later sold and the new owners gave her the new name of 'Golden Harvest'.
I understand the vessel made its last sailing in 2001 and was subsequently left moored for a number of years at Kinlochleven Pier. 
A decade later, during a particularly violent storm on 8 December 2011, she broke loose from her anchorage and ended up running aground on the shores of Loch Linnhe at Corpach, next to the lochs on the Caledonian Canal. I am making an assumption here that, at the time of the storm, the vessel was no longer at Kinlochleven Pier and was somewhat nearer to where she end, washed up and grounded. Kinlochleven Pier is quite some distance from here and I'd be surprised to learn she had drifted the somewhat convoluted route from that location to Corpach.
Whatever the exact circumstances, the forlorn wreck has lain here, in the shadow of Ben Nevis, ever since. The passing years and weather increasingly taking their toll.
