Nest Building Ritual - Mating Pair of Great Blue Heron

            This is an image from 2016 that I wanted to process with new software that I just downloaded.

I think this is one of the sweetest sights in nature. Every few minutes, the male great blue heron flies out to select a branch for the nest. As he flies back, the female roots down in the nest and stick her beak straight up in the air, with all her collar feathers standing straight out. Next, he gently presents the branch to her, which she carefully places in the nest. He might try to adjust it, but she'll move it back.
