Common Merganser Hen And Ducklings 20-0624-8671

            When they first appeared in the middle of the Englishman River estuary, from their nest hole, they were all still trying to get on their mothers back. By the time they swam close enough for photos they were all over the place diving or scampering off in different directions, but still staying within earshot of mom. This female Common Merganser had at least 18, ducklings following her around in Parksville, BC, Canada
