Enjoying September

            The dahlia's were going strong at Pt. Defiance Park in September.  It is awesome how the dahlia's take over as the rose garden is petering out.  The back lighting really caught my attention here but I had no clue there would be a nice lens flare in there until I took a peek.  

I have been playing with a bit of Orton Effect (way of adding diffusion) lately and used it here at low opacity.  It can really smooth out harsh details.  You have to completely edit the photo then add Orton last or it will not have a seamless look.  Then where you want to bring back some sharpness like in the center of the flower some high pass sharpening is needed, again at low opacity and applied with a brush.
