            Il territorio dell’Alta Val di Cecina custodisce uno dei gioielli medievali più affascinanti dello stivale, Volterra, antica Repubblica dell'età Comunale la cui magia ruota tutto intorno alla pietra: dalle strade alle torri ai suoi palazzi fino all’artigianato, tutto è realizzato con questo materiale. Vero e proprio protagonista è l’alabastro che, grazie alla sua morbidezza si presta ad essere più facilmente lavorato rispetto al marmo, un vanto la cui fama e prestigio sono legate proprio a questa cittadina toscana tra botteghe, tradizioni e musei dedicati.

The territory of the Alta Val di Cecina preserves one of the most fascinating medieval jewels of the boot, Volterra, an ancient Republic of the Municipal age whose magic revolves around stone: from the streets to the towers, to its palaces and crafts, everything is done with this material. The real protagonist is the alabaster which, thanks to its softness, lends itself to being more easily worked than marble, a pride whose fame and prestige are linked to this Tuscan town among shops, traditions and dedicated museums.
