10Windows009

            10 windows is a series of ten different windows that played a certain role in my previous career as a photographer and at the same time a kind of word play alluding to Windows10. When I was little, I often passed with my mother the prison of my birthplace Freising on the way to the market. Sometimes a detained person looked out the window. In the 60s, the prison was closed. In 2001, I was the first to have the opportunity to enter the premises, which had been closed for more than 30 years. I wanted to document the building in its original condition. As I walked up the stairs to the cells, I first saw this old booklet entitled "Penal system." My last two images of the window series are dedicated to the old prison and are also the prelude to a new series about the old prison, which I will upload in due course.
