Tranvía Villasegura tram @ Port Station, Tenerife

            An old amateur photograph (just 2" x 3") from a large collection of old European tram photos that I bought. This one is of an unidentified Tenerife Tramways tram and trailer in Port Station.

The tramway was named 'Tranvía Villasegura' after Imeldo Serís, Marquis de Villasegura, who was instrumental in getting the tramway built. In Nov 1956 the tram services were suspended, and then officially closed in Feb 1959.

The photo reverse has no photographer name or date but is annotated with "taken at Orotava", that location must be wrong as the planned extension to Orotava was never built.

I have very little information about European transport, I bought the collection of old pictures rather than take the chance that they would be thrown away if unsold.
