Horned Lark (Eremophila alpestris) - a photo on Flickriver

Pelican Point, Pyramid Lake, Washoe Co., Nevada (December 20th, 2016). 89. Large desert lake.

Winter-plumaged male, one of a flock of 9 foraging along the lake shore. This one's just flown-up onto a stump bordering the parking area.

Note the comparatively pale washed-out colors characteristic of the desert forms of this variable species.
