生態說明 Ecology Description:
黃頭鷺普遍的留烏，部分夏候鳥與部分冬候鳥，因常停棲於牛背上所以又稱「牛背鷺」，但此景象現已不多見。是全世界上分佈最廣的鷺科鳥類之一，牠們在台灣雖然終年可見，卻有著在島內遷移的奇特現象，每年秋冬季，北部的黃頭鷺會移居到較溫暖的南部渡冬，來年春天才又回到北台灣繁殖，而目前所見的黃頭鷺，可說是兼具著遷徙與留鳥雙重特性。
