~~ 火炬刺桐 ~~
別名：火焰刺桐、象牙紅、金剛刺桐.
原產地：非洲東南部
特性：落葉大喬木，樹幹通直，斜上昇或直立，樹幹上面佈滿瘤狀黑刺，株高9至15m，枝條上有銳刺。花朵盛開於落葉之後，凋落時會轉成紫紅色。花頂生，密集的總狀花序，朱紅色的蝶形花(少數為淡黃色)，花萼紙質，不規則開裂看似辣椒的條狀花朵。歡陽光充足之環境，即使陽光曝曬也無害。
用途：園藝、行道樹、公園綠蔭及校園綠樹。
