Lake George Wind Farm - a photo on Flickriver

            On the road approaching Canberra from the North, these beautiful wind turbines were just part of a large array that can be seen in the distance across  Lake George, which is a massive but very shallow lake. When full, the water will come right up to the camera position. On this occasion, the lake was almost empty and had receded to the far distance and was just visible. The distance from the camera to the nearest wind turbine was 9.5 km!  
This image was taken from a highway rest stop on a dull and mostly cloudy day.
