Slemish in Misty Twilight - a photo on Flickriver

            Viewed from high ground on the B94 Broughshane to Ballyclare road just south of the Battery, the sugarloaf of Slemish in late twilight on a misty evening.

Aside from its natural beauty, Slemish's value as a heritage site is entirely bound up with its association with Saint Patrick. In local tradition, the mountain was the site of the saint's slavery, where he spent 6 years herding livestock for Mulchi, the local chieftain.

Slemish rises to a height of 437 metres asl, with considerable prominence over the surrounding terrain.
