            The Skye Bridge: 

Is a road bridge over Loch Alsh connecting the Isle of Skye to the Island of Eilean Bàn. The name is also used for the whole Skye crossing, which further connects Eilean Bàn to the Mainland across the Carrich Viaduct. The crossing forms part of the A87 road.

The Isle of Skye is connected to the mainland by a road bridge, connecting the Mainland of Kyle of Lochalsh to the village of Kyleakin on Skye. The bridge was first opened in1995 when there were expensive toll charges applied to cross both ways, these were finally abolished in 2004 and now the Bridge is free for all to cross.
