Warm Tones

            Sunrise, Alvord Desert, Oregon

Spending the night on the desert was an interesting experience.  It is very windy on the playa with lots of dirt devils whipping about, but you have room to play with your vehicle of choice, find a place to set up a tent a mile away (no exaggeration) from others, and at night enjoy the expanse of stars with minimal light pollution.  Being circled by mountains and cliffsides it almost feels like you're in giant lunar crater, except for the fact that there's bushes and grass not too far off.  It's very easy to access the desert, folks online made it sound difficult, but as you head south on Fields-Denio Rd. and you pass the hot springs, just start looking for any road that goes to the left and you will then be free to zoom around.
