Hydrangea seemannii L. Riley 1924 (HYDRANGEACEAE).

            Arbusto o planta trepadora perennifolia, trepa mediante raices aéreas. Tallos rojizos y pubescentes. Hojas coriáceas, de elípticas a lanceoladas, largamente pecioladas, opuestas, de 11-15 cm de largo y 4-6 cm de ancho, ápice ligeramente puntiagudo, margen algo serrado. Flores agrupadas en umbelas planas, con flores blancas, estériles las externas, con sépalos de hasta 2 cm de diámetro. Especie nativa de Méjico, América central y del Sur. En Iturraran se encuentra en la zona 3.

Evergreen bush or climbing plant, it climbs through aerial roots. Reddish pubescent stalks. Leaves are coriaceous, elliptical to lanceolate, longly petiolate, opposite, 11-15 cm long & 4-6 cm wide, slightly pointed apex, rather serrate margin. Flowers are grouped in flat umbels, with white flowers; outer ones are sterile, with sepals up to 2 cm in diameter. Species is native to Mexico (Durango Sate). In Iturraran it is found in areas 3 & 7.
