Snow in Garnerville NY Jan 2015

            After some big upheavals in life I was visiting my hometown - Garnerville NY. A light snow storm began and I walked around town in the areas I went as as a kid. These pictures are sort of a love poem to this place which was just the background when I was growing up, but for which I am greatly fond of as an adult who's now lived away more than I lived there. The place is nondescript, but has so many layers of history, far back into prehistory, under its mostly suburban development. My imprint is light but I spent so many hours hiking around town and exploring all the nooks and crannies that I feel I am part of its long fabric. It is a far more developed and crowded place than when I was little. In some ways I don't recognize it but as I roll down the Parkway when I come back to visit, I can smell and sense it from all the way up at Rt 6, even in the dead of winter at night,  .
