A Sprinkle of Tamaracks - a photo on Flickriver

            In autumn, the Western Lark (aka "Tamarack"), a deciduous conifer, turns yellow among the evergreen fir trees around it.

I took this shot with my drone along the North Fork of the Payette River, just before it enters Payette Lake, north of McCall, Idaho.

This was a rather high concentration of Tamaracks, as this species, normally only accounts for about 1% of the tree population in the Payette National Forest.
