Flickriver

            An artwork postcard depicting HMS Victory in Portsmouth Harbour at about the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. The view seems to be from Gosport.

HMS Victory is at anchor, as she was for a century until permanently dry-docked in 1922.

The scene appears to be c1900, the warship to the left is in Victorian Navy livery. A torpedo boat destroyer, or something looking like 'Turbinia' is entering harbour (which might make it about 1897, when Turbinia visited the Fleet Review). The Portsmouth Harbour Viaduct carries the railway into the Dockyard.
