Vulture Tree - a photo on Flickriver

Vulture Tree

            This photo was taken from my back yard.  This is what it looks like EVERY EVENING in that tree.  Then the birds take their turns and find a space in the very dense spruce tree (I think) next to it.  Sometimes they have to fly around multiple times and give it a go, to get a good spot.. And other times, the branch they attempt to land on, already had a buzzard on it who ISN'T IN THE MOOD.. & they'll fight.. and the bird will leave and try again.

Probably like 75-90 sleep there every night.. They come in from all over.. Who KNOWS how far they fly in the day time.. 
Some of them stay local.. and you can see them in other areas of the neighborhood perched in some of their favorite trees.. (but they don't come back to this tree or their spruce/pine tree right next door) until dusk rolls around..
Sometimes I stand outside and watch them all swoop in.  You can hear them fighting for space inside their 'sleep tree' & hear their wings flap.  It's a very interesting thing to watch.. and it never gets old to me.
