El Rotes Rathaus es el ayuntamiento de Berlín, localizado en la Rathausstraße en el distrito de Mitte. Es la sede del alcalde regente y del gobierno del estado federado de Berlín. El nombre de este edificio histórico data de su fachada hecha con ladrillos rojos. 

El ayuntamiento fue construido entre 1861 y 1869 al estilo del Renacimiento del norte de Italia por el arquitecto Hermann Friedrich Waesemann. La arquitectura de la torre se inspiró en el modelo de las torres de la Catedral de Laon en Francia. Este edificio sustituyó a varias edificaciones procedentes de la Edad Media, por lo cual ocupa una manzana entera.

Este edificio fue dañado durante el bombardeo aliado en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Al localizarse en el sector de Berlín ocupado por los soviéticos, cumplió las funciones de ayuntamiento de Berlín Este después de su reconstrucción durante la década de 1950 de acuerdo a los planos originales, mientras que el Rathaus Schöneberg, sirvió como sede del senado de Berlín Oeste. Después de la reunificación alemana, la administración de Berlín se trasladó a este edificio en 1991. 

The Rotes Rathaus is the city hall of Berlin, located on the Rathausstraße in the district of Mitte. It is the seat of the regent mayor and the government of the federal state of Berlin. The name of this historic building dates from its facade made with red bricks.

The town hall was built between 1861 and 1869 in the Renaissance style of northern Italy by the architect Hermann Friedrich Waesemann. The architecture of the tower was inspired by the model of the towers of the Cathedral of Laon in France. This building replaced several buildings from the Middle Ages, which occupies a whole block.

This building was damaged during the Allied bombing in World War II. When located in the sector of occupied Berlin by the Soviets, it fulfilled the functions of city council of East Berlin after its reconstruction during the decade of 1950 according to the original plans, whereas the Rathaus Schöneberg, served like soothes of the Senate of West Berlin . After German reunification, the Berlin administration moved to this building in 1991.
