            So I was sitting at the intersection of St. Andrews and Lake Murray Blvd. when a CSX train approached from behind heading toward Columbia. This is perfect, I thought to myself. I've been wanting to get a good pacing shot of a train wheree the train is "stopped" via a slow shutter, but everything else is blurred.

St. Andrews runs beside the CSX tracks and CSX runs engines on both sides of coal trains. So this was a perfect shot at it, so to speak. Even better is that the traffic lights on St. Andrews blink yellow as a train runs down, so if you're lucky, traffic and the train will be doing about the same speed.

Only problem is that this is the front of the train and I'm still stopped at the light. I need the back of the train, but it's going pretty slow right now. So the light turns green and I pull into a parking lot. Meanwhile, the train starts speeding up and I'm looking for a good spot to get back in traffic. Then, another shot pops into my mind. The store whose lot I pulled into has a mirroed window going the length of it. The train on the other side of the road would fill the frame perfectly.

So I make what seemed like a spilit second decision to forget the mirroed shot and get the pacing shot. Except that just as I make that decision, the end of the train passes and I can't catch up with it.

Therefore, I only got the above grab shot which was supposed to help me decide if I wanted to frame the mirror in the shot or not.

Maybe in the next 362 days, I'll figure this one out.
