Nude portrait with knees - a photo on Flickriver

From "The Naked Portrait" series. There is something special in the look of a head-and-shoulders portrait taken when naked – often this can be missed because the viewer naturally wants to take in the whole view. I am therefore making a series of "naked portraits", cropped from original nude photos, which can also be flagged "safe" so they can be seen by a wider range of people. For this one, cropping wasn't necessary as her spontaneous pose had the same effect.

I found another neg from our original "studio" series in 1970/71 - this one just a fun portrait taken after a series of mainly abstract-type compositions, not printed at the time. Really quite romantic - I'm glad it survived.

Tech note: Taken in Feb.1971 on Ilford HP4 film with a Canon P rangefinder camera and Canon 28mm F2.8 lens using a single floodlight
