            I recently found and scanned a negative of this photo of Marie, taken aged just 22, three months before we were married. As usual, it was not set up for the shot, just a spontaneous snap by window light – but it is one of my most formal-looking portraits of her. As I have mentioned before, I was fascinated by how each photo I took of her looked quite different – her Irish / Spanish / French / English genes magically created a new mix every time I saw her...
