M on Dartmoor, 1970

Of mainly sentimental value, this is my first colour photo of Marie on a trip to Cornwall in 1970, soon after we met when we were just friends enjoying some time together. Unfortunately the quality is very poor and I don't even remember where it was taken, but it reminds me of that early part of our relationship when we were getting to know each other – and I was hoping, but not at all confident, that it would lead further.

I had no idea that 55 years later we would be living happily together just a few miles from here (in Plymouth).

Tech. note: I'm not sure why the sharpness is so limited and the original slide has got lost so I am having to rely on this old scan from 30 years ago when the technology was basic.

PS This was originally titled "M in Cornwall" but I could not recall where it was. Chris kindly identified it as being at Two Bridges in the middle of Dartmoor so we must have stopped there on the way there or back (possibly for tea at the hotel nearby).
