The delicate curling edges of an orange and gold Gloriosa Lily

Here's another of my strange and unusual flowers... from Hoya to Passion to hairy Queen of the Night to Gloriosa!

As a bud, its pale green petals face down. then as they elongate, their edges curl and arch up and around as they transform from green to yellow to orange or scarlet. Unlike most lilies, the Gloriosa is a vine that grabs on and pulls ahead bytendrils at the ends of the leaves. You may also know it as Glory Flower, Climbing Lily or Flame Lily.

Whenever I catch sight a Gloriosa out of the corner of my eye, my heart leaps at its beauty... and celebrates its unique ways!
