Bahnbetriebswerk Stolberg I - a photo on Flickriver

            Stoomlocomotief 053 031 van de Deutsche Bundesbahn bij het locomotievendepot Stolberg. Stolberg ligt aan de in 1841 geopende spoorlijn van Keulen naar Aken en werd later een knooppunt van spoorlijnen. Dat verklaart de aanwezigheid van een groot locomotievendepot. Overigens is daar nu (in 2021) niets meer terug te vinden.

Deutsche Bundesbahn steam locomotive 053 031 near the Stolberg locomotive sheds. Stolberg is situated on the railway line from Cologne to Aachen that was opened in 1841 and later on Stolberg became an important railway centre. That explains the presence of a large motive power depot.
