VT-ANI 2 Boeing 787-8 Air India LHR 09SEP19

This was the 1st Boeing 787 to be built at Charleston, SC, USA (Line No: 46/1).  It was originally allocated to Continental Airlines, however Continental had been merged into United Airlines in Oct-10 and the order had been deferred.  It was re-assigned to Air India.  The aircraft had a ceremonial roll-out on 27-Apr-12 painted all white with a red rudder and Air India titles.  It first flew on 23-May-12 and was then stored at Charleston in Jun-12.  It was delivered to Air India as VT-ANI in Oct-12.  After some technical issues, the aircraft was stored at Delhi, India in Apr-14 and used as a spares source for other B787's in the Air India fleet.  Eventually Air India obtained the parts it needed and it returned to service in Jan-15.  Current (Sep-18).
