The Great Western Railway War Memorial

            They say "You make plans and God laughs" well we thought we would have a great day in London just taking things easy and seeing what we can see in a day. 

Like any big city, it's impossible to see everything in a day. But I had just stepped down from the train in Euston Station when the calf muscle in my right leg popped (or whatever it did) but I was done from that moment on. I tried to hobble around much as I could but it was so painful. So we had to get an early train home and it kind of ruined the whole day.  

But for what I did manage I hope you enjoy.

This is the statue at Paddington Station is officially called The Great Western Railway War Memorial, and was commissioned in 1920 to commemorate the employees of the Great Western Railway (GWR) who had died during the First World War. The bronze figure itself was created by the sculptor Charles Sargeant Jagger.
