Been after this shot for 2 years now! So me and a mate turn up to the spot expecting it to be empty. There was one car which was no doubt another avid astrophotographer. Then another turned up and we were stupidly thinking it's pretty busy. Then we see more headlights, and up pulls a bus with 30 people armed with tripods and cameras!
Suffice to say I am extremely happy with my shot considering the amount of lights that were being carelessly wielded about.
This is a composite. A 30 second exposure at iso 3200 for the sky and a 20 min exposure at iso 100 for the foreground blended together in Photoshop.
