The Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch is one of several churches that claims succession to the Patriarchate of Antioch (Antoch is now in Turkey and the seat moved to Damascus following the Ottoman invasion). It is part of the Eastern Orthodox Church created following the various schisms in Christianity, with a membership mostly in Syria and Lebanon. The School of Ecclesiastical Music founded in 1997 adheres to the Antiochian Orthodox Church and is based in Matn, east of Beirut. Its choir has released 17 albums. They specialise in Byzantine chant, the unison liturgical chant of the Greek Orthodox church.
