Manchester Patricroft Lancashire 5th June 1968

            A reboot from 50 years ago. 2 8Fs and a Standard 5 in steam on shed - a scene which  will soon be recreated at Loughborough.

As well as the Caprotti-valved BR Standard 5 4-6-0s Patricroft also ran the Walschaerts versions of the Standard 5. This example, 73010, captures the sun in the entrance to the 1885 London & North Western Railway Old shed flanked by two Stanier 8Fs, 48374 on the left. 

The smoke from 73010's chimney is billowing into the shed interior rather than being guided out through the smoke chutes in the roof. The shed closed at the end June 1968 and these engines went for scrap.
