Guide Bridge Manchester Lancashire 4th May 1968

            Another old underexposed favourite given a pseudo-HDR tweak and a tighter crop. British Railways / LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0s 48356 and 48319 stand in the platform at Guide Bridge station east of Manchester on the electrified Great Central Railway line to Woodhead, Wath & Sheffield. We were en route from Heaton Mersey shed in Stockport to Newton Heath depot in north Manchester. My one and only footplate ride in British Railways time.
