Visitor's Center; Albuquerque, NM, Rio Grande Nature Center, [Lou Feltz]

            Famed architect Antoine Predock contributed to the master plan for the Center, designing this interpretive exhibition building as an unobtrusive adjunct to the natural surroundings. It was completed in 1982. Nearly the entire building acts as a wildlife blind offering views of the pond wildlife adjacent to the building. The public entrance to the Center is through a large tunnel that penetrates the berm visible in this shot. The popularity of the Center later led to the creation of  an additional (larger) Education Building near the parking lot.
