Növog E14 @ Winterbach - a photo on Flickriver

            De Mariazellerbahn in Oostenrijk is vooral gekend door de meer dan 100 jaar oude elektrische locomotieven. Deze locs werden nog dagelijks ingezet tot eind 2013. Sinds 2013 worden de locs enkel nog ingezet om de toeristische trein "Ötscherbär" te rijden, deze trein rijdt enkel nog van juni tem september en dat enkel op zaterdag. Ook in december worden enkele ritten gereden ivm Advent.
Van de 16 gebouwde elocs van de reeks 1099 zijn er anno 2019 nog 3 rijvaardig! 2 locs dragen de bruine Ötscherbär livrei en 1 loc draagt nog het oude ÖBB livrei. Deze laatste loc wordt normaal nooit ingezet voor het slepen van de Ötscherbär, maar wordt enkel nog gebruikt voor werktreinen en sneeuw te ruimen.

Op 15 december raakte de bruine Ötscherbär loc (E7) tijdens het slepen van de Ötscherbär beschadigd bij een ongeval met een traktor in Winterbach. Er werd onmiddelijk een reserve loc opgevorderd. We hadden verwacht dat dit de 2de bruine loc (E10) ging zijn, maar het werd de prachtige (E14) in zijn oude ÖBB livrei! 

Na het omwisselen van de loc staat de E14 klaar voor vertrek in Winterbach.
