During our recent trip to Tanzania we got to see this Lioness with two very small cubs in Tarangire National Park.
The cubs where very young about 2-3 weeks old. When Lion cubs are born they have spots on their bodies, similar to a Leopards spots. As they grow older to a couple of months they start loosing the spots.
Lionesess normally go into seclusion when they are ready to deliver. They stay in seclusion for nearly a months time, weaning the cubs before they return to the pride.
