Agnieszka. Pin-up! pt. 1 - a photo on Flickriver

Although I haven't made anything as big as Project 52 this year and the idea of another whole-year-lasting project had fallen before it started, there were two really big projects this year. Rural-idyllic session in Soce you've seen some time ago was the second one. This - was the first...

The idea of pin-up photoshoot came to me in September 2018. I shared it with Paula Kowalczyk, my make-up artist, but we always didn't have: the time or the model. The things changed in the very beginning of this year, when I met Agnieszka for the first time, during one of the larps. She was wearing the beautiful red dress with black dots, very pin-up-like. I talked with her if she was interested in collaboration, but the dress wasn't her. Meanwhile, I asked another model for posing, but she wasn't answering me*. And after few weeks - we met with Agnieszka once again, on larp of course. She was looking even more wonderful than the first time. I asked her shyly: 'How much do you take for posing?' 'Come on! What do you need?' 'I still need a model for pin-up session.' 'And that's great, I collect pin-up wardrobe now!' :)

The idea was to make a photoshoot in atelier conditions, but, fortunately, it quickly appeared Agnieszka is even more professional than myself and she suggested to make photos in park or cafe as well. And then - I thought about Camera Cafe where I had made #41 Project 52 picture. And that was a real bull's eye that boosted the photoshoot plan! The only problem that appeared a week before was that Paula was to come to Wrocław that day, but fortunately... well, let's say two makeupists are better than one.

We all met on Sunday at Camera Cafe, with the owner, the make-up artist and Agnieszka who came for Warsaw with her friend (and my assistant joined as later that afternoon). With the whole Agnieszka's wardrobe and the whole cafe with the cinema room - the possibilities were unlimited. We were working for almost 7 hours, including make-up, shooting, changing the place and moving strobes. After all, Agnieszka said it was far too long, too exhausting - but I think the results were worth it. I had also a plan to make photos outside, maybe in the car, but, after all, I think this would be too much...

We decided to show the photos in a form of photostory, not in chronological order, but more logical, trying to tell a story about a woman's day from start to the evening. As I don't post more than 1 photo per day here on Flickr, I highly recommend you to check my Facebook and Instagram as more photos are to be posted there.

When talking with my assistant some time ago, he said it was not a real pin-up photoshoot, the style was not typical pin-up. But even if - that means we created something different, something... ourself. And that's something big.

*She answered in March when it was too late as Agnieszka was 'on the board', but we made a few photoshoots - it was Bernadetta Burszta from Theatre Academy.
