Blencathra Panorama - Explore No.43 - 21.01.2019

I was out walking and filming in November in the north of the English Lake District. By way of background information I contribute 'outdoor' pieces to an online magazine about the north of England. The magazine is known as Northern Soul. It covers the arts, TV, film, and so on. I try to send one item a month through to them which is usually a walking video, (vlog) or written piece of a walk with photographs.

I was out doing a route from St John's in the Vale, up along the Old Coach Road above Threlkeld Knotts with a view to ascending Great Dodd. The weather was fantastic but a bit too harsh for landscape photography. As we were strolling along the Old Coach Road there was a superb 'face on' view of Blencathra which I thought would make for a great pano image stitch and for a detailed study of this south face of Blencathra and the various ridges that run up to the summit.
