Pink, It was love at first sight - a photo on Flickriver

            ... or maybe not.

On the 27th May 2004, 31601 'Mayor of Casterbridge' burbles south near Castle Cary with Wales and West's 0805 Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth service.

The shocking pink liveried, newly named locomotive and Mark 2f coaches had been released to traffic the previous day and were still gleaming.

This train and it's evening return working operated using top and tail locomotives through the summer of 2004.    After the summer period ended the set continued to find less regular use for another year.
