The idyllic beauty of this place is deceptive - Western Iceland is the zone of the greatest geological activity on the island.
Less than 10 km from this place is still not completely extinct famous volcano Snaefellsjokull, described by Jules Verne in the novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
