            The fortified city of Essaouira, Morocco on the Atlantic ocean. Ancient city, its modern plant was designed by a french architect in the 18th century (Theodore Cornut in 1764). Its name means 'well designed'. In the '60's it became popular among musicians (such as Hendrix and Zappa) and hippies. A role was played by the interest in Gnaoua (black population descending from slaves) culture and music...
