Teal and ivory mini cakes - a photo on Flickriver

            Did these last year and the pictures have been hiding in my sister's camera!
Not my best work I'll admit - I can see plenty of room for improvement - but I was not in the best of health. I had only a few weeks previously had an operation on my left (dominant) hand and I also had some sort of tummy bug and felt really nauseous. The sickly smell of fondant was not what I needed! :-(
This was the first time I had attempted mini cakes and I couldn't believe how long they took. 52 of them took me all day just to cover in fondant! 
The bride and groom were very pleased with them though and that's the main thing :-)

Oh, by the way, for anyone considering making mini cakes, if you remove the top and bottom from a baby food can, it makes a perfect 2" cutter. I did the same with a small pilchard tin to cut around the fondant once on.
