Special:
- Wilbur Gunn (American at birth) founded the first Lagonda factory in 1898 just behind his own house and was named for a creek near Gunn's home. The name 'Lagonda' is Shawnee Native American for a place now called Buck Creek.
- Declining sales (new speed restrictions of 30 mph across Britain in the post-Depression era) sent the company into bankruptcy. The company was saved by Alan P. Good (who just outbid Rolls-Royce) and the company was reformed as LG Motors.
- Under guidance of the legendary W.O. Bentley, the new chief designer, and styling by Frank Feeley, this new model LG45 was introduced in 1936.
- It has a four-speed manual Meadows gearbox with synchromesh on 3rd and 4th (G9 box), a 6-Volt electric system, twin SU carburettors, Connolly leather upholstery and rear wheel drive.
- It has the chassis of the M45 with an in rubber mounted tried-and-true Sanction III Meadows OHV six-cylinder engine, a cutaway doors body, fixed cycle-type wings, soft(er) semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension front and rear and  Luvax dampers (for a more comfortable ride) and Girling mechanical drum brakes all around.
- Two Sports-Racing two-seaters were built for general competion like the Grand Prix de l'ACF at Montlhéry and RAC Tourist Trophy races ( one still excists).
- Two four-seater cars were built to comply with Le Mans 24 Hour regulation requirements (all whereabouts unknown).
- 25 special models “Rapide Sports Tourer” were produced, road legal “competition” cars, using a high-compression engine and better gearing for increased top speed (175 km/h) and 24 remain today.
