The Hollywood Brown Derby signage - Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios - Lake Buena Vista, Florida

The Brown Derby was a chain of restaurants in Los Angeles, California. The first and best known was shaped like a derby hat, an iconic image that became synonymous with the Golden Age of Hollywood. It was opened by Wilson Mizner in 1926. The original Brown Derby restaurants had closed or had been converted to other uses by the 1980's, though a Disney-backed Brown Derby national franchising program revived the brand in the 21st century. The sign seen in the photograph above is at one of Disney's locations at Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This photo was taken in 2013 but my wife and I had the opportunity to eat here many years earlier on a trip to this park without any kids...needless to say, we were not quite prepared for the prices but really did enjoy the food.

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
