            Oh dear, oh dear, talk about “filling the frame”, another major composition failure here. I have got far to close (a common failure of mine around this time) to 45057 standing in the icy, slightly snow covered yard at Leicester MPD, 18th February 1983.

Locomotive History
45057 was built at Crewe Works as D93, entering traffic in March 1961 allocated to Derby MPD. Three weeks later it transferred to Bristol for a four month spell before returning to Derby. It would spend the rest of its career a Midland engine initially allocated to Derby (with a one month spell at Cricklewood in 1962) until basically becoming a Toton engine in the mid 1960’s. It was withdrawn still a Toton engine in January 1985 and broken up during March 1987 by Vic Berry Leicester.
