Rieux-Volvestre (Haute-Garonne) - a photo on Flickriver

            Rieux fut cité libre en 1202 et fut érigée en évêché en 1317 par le pape Jean XXII. Trente-quatre évêques s'y succédèrent jusqu'à sa disparition en 1790 ; cet ancien diocèse est alors rattaché à l'archidiocèse de Toulouse.

Rieux fut le siège d'une judicature royale où, en 1560, eut lieu le procès de l'affaire Martin Guerre.
