Southern Ground Hornbill, Bucorvus leadbeateri, Matopos National Park, Zimbabwe

            Very glad to bump into these Hornbills one morning and also to photograph them in a tree. They spend most of their time on the ground. There appeared to be only two so I'm assuming they had paired off to breed. 
Ground Hornbills appear to be very intelligent. I was photographing this one as it basked in the morning sun and then moved to another also in a tree nearby. The first Hornbill appeared to have enjoyed being in front of the lens as it flew over to join its mate who was also looking bemused by the camera lens. 
The southern ground hornbill, is one of two species of ground hornbill and is the largest species of hornbill. The other species of the genus Bucorvus is the Abyssinian ground hornbill, B. abyssinicus. Wikipedia
